Wade's Sister, Elizabeth, Nana and me.
My mother's mother died when I was barely old enough to remember, and my father's mother died before I was a teenager. I miss both of my grandmother's a lot, and wish they could still be alive to experience my life with me. I would love to "surprise" visit them if I could.Wade's Nana has always treated me as one of her own. She has since the first day she met me, which means a lot to both Wade and myself. We met a lot of resistance with how quickly we met and married.... but here we are, five years later, strong as ever. Nana knew we were good for each other.
One of the sweetest things she said to me when we were saying goodbye is that she was so glad that I stopped by for a visit, and she was so glad that she was home, because she wouldn't have wanted to miss the blessing of me. Wow. She called me a blessing. Warmed my heart.
This is what life is about. Taking a small moment to stop and do something thoughtful for another just because you care. I took this picture of her doorbell on my way in to show Wade what I was doing. I just love that she has a neatly typed scotch taped label on her old doorbell that says "please press firmly". I am glad I pressed firmly on Wednesday to bring a little joy to her life and to hear that I am a blessing to someone. HAPPY FRIDAY!!!
