Desperate Times Call For Desperate Measures

I had my regular 6 month doctor appointment today with my OB-GYN to run some tests I have to get done every 6 months.  Yucky.  Timing was good though.  I was able to talk with her and show her all of my charts and graphs where I have been documenting what has been going on with my cycle.  She was very happy with the information and said it really gave her a clear understanding of what is going on with me.

Who knew that something as simple as documenting and charting what is going on could finally pin point what the problem is.  We now know the problem, which is a little hard for me to think about right now.  The problem is me.  I don't ovulate regularly and when I do, it is too early in my cycle or way to late.  Sad face.  She called my pregnancy a "sporadic pregnancy".

But now that we know the problem, we can move towards a solution.  She thinks we may can get the problem solved before going to IVF since everything else is fine.  She wants to start over with oral medications, then if that doesn't work, sending me to Dr. Edward Moore again to do injectables.  If that doesn't work, two more IUI's and if THAT doesn't work, then on to IVF.  She said she really thinks it will happen before IVF and will cost a whole lot less money.  The down side is we are looking at around 8 more months before IVF.

I have taken clomid in the past and had some crazy side effects.  I have taken the letrozole with my first (failed by the way) IUI which didn't produce the needed results.  My doctor has seen better results with the clomid than the letrozole. So that is what she recommends.

Desperate times call for for desperate measures.  I trust my doctor.  Side effects are temporary, so I am going to try three months on the clomid.  I do sometimes act like a crazy woman on that stuff, so please, bear with me!
Fingers crossed and lots of prayer for the next baby Kay!
