Domesticated Diva

Wade and I are beyond excited that we have two weekends in a row where we get to stay at home and just be with each other and our four-legged babies. I cannot remember the last time we had two weekends in a row where it was just us in our house.

Wade – sweet boy – surprised me last weekend with two tickets to see the ballet production on Dracula downtown. We went on Friday October 30th. What a really neat production. Not appropriate for kids under 15 or 16, but it was really a very neat production. There were strobe lights, fog, and other lighting effects, married with traditional and non-traditional ballet dance movement.

I was really impressed that Wade wanted to go and bought the tickets and surprised me with them. He topped the night off with a trip to my favorite late night stop. Krispy Kreme! And of course – we HAD to go since the “Hot” sign was lit up.

Back in the Spring, he took me to see the ballet production of the “Hootie and the Blowfish” story. For those of you who don’t know, Hootie and the Blowfish started at the University of South Carolina.

All the band members were friends and would play at different fraternity gigs and local bars, so it was special to see this production as Wade and I are both USC alumni. It was a onetime production with only three shows. The music was provided by none other than the actual Hootie and the Blowfish band! It was like a concert/ballet all in one. Pretty cool. I think Wade is hooked on the ballet now. I can’t blame him with the affordable prices that the tickets are.

You know you are domesticated when… your Friday night activity plan with your husband is to go grocery shopping together. You REALLY know that you are domesticated when both of you love going to the grocery store so much together that you can’t wait for the end of the day to come. I love how we love to do the little things in life together – like go grocery shopping. Makes the world go round – at least it makes our world go round! Look out Bi-Lo!! Here we come!
