Dave Matthews became popular when I was in the 9th grade – a freshman at Tucker High School. Dave Matthews got bigger and bigger and kept writing really great songs that ‘my generation’ listened to all the way through college. I still love listening to his music, and it always takes me back to great memories in high school, at Montreat, Auburn, NGCSU and beyond.
Well, yesterday, a 19 year old at work asked me who was singing that music I was listening to. I about had a heart attack and fell out of my chair. I actually asked her to repeat the question. I told her it was Dave Matthews. She said “Oh, I have heard the name Dave Matthews, but didn’t know what he sang or sounded like”. Am I really THAT old?!? Holla to all my other DMB lovas!
