Nesting Already?

Wade and I are staying positive. I am eight weeks now which means the first trimester is two-thirds over which is a feat all in itself! I forgot to take my nausea medicine when I got up this morning which caused some praying to the porcelain god for a few minutes, but after that, I was just fine and have not had to take the medicine all day, so maybe that is a good sign I am moving away from the all day bouts of morning sickness.

I am already starting to nest. I have all kinds of projects in my head that “have to be done” before baby gets here. Wade is being a good sport by just saying “yes dear, whatever you say”, as the priority list is changing daily. We have settled on a boy name and a girl name, but will be keeping that between the two of us. We don’t even know if we are going to find out what Baby Kay is. There are very few surprises in adult life, and this is one of them that I would kind of like to hold onto despite my type A side that is demanding to have the proper room coloring and clothing for the baby the minute s/he arrives.

We have lots of work to do in the new year! Cribs, car seats, daycare (sad face – not in a position for me to be able to come home yet), bedding, oh my! I will be relying on my veteran mama’s to help me with some of these many and oh so important decisions!

I head back to the doctor on Wednesday for my weekly ultrasound and blood work. I have been calling this baby “Hollywood” because of the amount of pictures we already have of our little muffin. It will be a wonderful Christmas present on Wednesday to be able to see a healthy baby growing and a healthy heartbeat pumping, because that is what we believe is going on!

Here is a model of what a human baby looks like at 8 weeks.  Amazing!
