Wade and I are happy to be able to finally share with our faithful followers that we are moving! We have found the perfect home for us on the side of town we want to live on. The only sad thing is leaving some of our best friends all the way back in Lexington. You know who you are!
We consider this our "forever home", and with interest rates the way they are, we could not refuse. This works perfectly into the plan for me to be a stay at home mama!
So - it is time for us to kiss a big goodbye to our starter home.
How broke we were when we were first married! I remember when we had 50 cents to our name to last a week. We just prayed and prayed for enough gas to get us too and from work and for green beans to get us through until pay day! Also many many prayers for health, safety and no car break downs went up the first little while! Our little home is what we could afford and was all we needed.
We have worked very hard since we have been married to set ourselves up for where we are today. We made choices that were hard at the time, but we knew they were the right choices to make. We watched our friends do things we wished we could do, but knowing in the back of our mind our choices "today" would greatly affect our tomorrow(s). Those choices have paid off.
A part of me will miss our baby home and our "boom boom" neighborhood as I call it. I will miss the fact that is where we got "our start". It is where we celebrated wonderful things like birthday's, jobs, promotions and anniversaries. It is where we cried for things that hurt us, and helped each other through deaths, job loss, hurt from family/friends and illness. It is where we spent the first five years of our marriage!
I talked to the kids about the big move.....
Bo said he was flexible - he said he is used to moving due to the many homes I have moved him in and out of since I got him when I was a junior in college. My sweet baby boy.
Rosie said she was just EXHAUSTED thinking about lifting one toenail to help us pack. Diva.
Tanner said he cannot wait to sneak out of the house like he loves to do and make as many new friends as he can while getting to know allllllll the bushes and trees in the neighborhood if you know what he means....
Wade and I are beyond excited - we may need a pinch or two for us to really believe this is actually happening.
We are moving to a neighborhood on the Irmo/Chapin line called "The Preserve at Rolling Creek". It is a beautiful neighborhood sort of in the country but 8 minutes away from my office and all the shopping at Harbison.
This is a picture of our "forever" home before it was finished and before sod. We are excited to finally have a POOL! I am also excited about the little things like a pantry and a for real laundry room! Two sinks in the master bath is also a plus :)
This is another exciting twist for us in our roller coaster of life :) We close on April 15th and will board the airplane for Antigua on April 23rd! Woo Hoo!!!
I will keep everyone updated on all of the moving festivities :) We are looking forward to having all of our friends over on a regular basis. Some of them we may just enjoy a dirty martini or two with......
