Cataloochee Ski Trip 2011

Wade and I took a quick ski trip to Cataloochee Ski Resort a couple of weekends ago.  The resort is located in Maggie Valley, North Carolina.  We both are used to skiing at Ski Beech or Sugar Mountain, so we decided to do something a little different.

We had a delicious meal Friday night at a local restaurant called Snappy's.  The chef came out and spoke to us personally.  Our waiter had a USC baseball national championship tattoo on his calf which of course gave him and Wade something to talk about (baseball - not tattoos of course!)

We stayed at a Ramada Inn which was good for ONLY a one night stay if you know what I mean. We got up Saturday morning and ate at Joey's FAMOUS pancake restaurant which was so yummy!

We then drove our way up the mountain to the slopes. We had a fantastic time. The lines were non-existent until after lunch, so we got lots of runs in between 9 and 12. We left the slopes around 2 and drove to Greenville to see Wade's family and visit with his Nana.

It was a fun trip and the first time we had "gotten away" since the miscarriage. I had a little bit of a hard time with that on Friday night thinking about how we would soon be able to find out the sex of the baby. This too shall pass. Here are a few pictures from our journey to the mountains. ENJOY!

 .... It's a LOOOONNNGG way down!!!

This is around where I dropped my pole off the ski lift....
