Run Tanner Run

FIRST!  I will have you all know I was watching Jeopardy while I was down in Mount Pleasant South Carolina this week on business and a question came on about who was the Frenchman who proved that the earth tilted on it's axis.  Me, being the dork that I am scream "FOUCALT!!  JEAN FOUCALT!!!" outloud .... by myself.... in my hotel room.  I knew this amazing tid-bit of information thanks to my recent trip to the Griffith Observatory in LA where I saw his theory in play! (See below post for details).....  My grandma would be so proud of me as she watched Jeopardy every...single....night (with the volume so loud the neighbors could here... huh?!? Wadda ya say!?!)

There was a tornado watch while I was in Mount Pleasant - so me being me - I put all my bags in the closet, and put my shoes by the door along with my jacket, with my keys, watch, chap-stick and wedding rings in it.  Can't go anywhere without my chap-stick!! :)  Thank goodness the storm passed and I got a good laugh out of it all.  I think the front desk manager thought I was nuts when I called to ask what their plan of action is should a tornado come through......

A couple of weekends ago my parents came up to spend the weekend with us.  It was so nice to spend some time with them since we do not get to see them very much.  We had a great weekend.  Dad, Wade and I ran in the Ray Tanner run.  Ray Tanner is the head baseball coach for the University of South Carolina, and is a really great guy.  Wade named our sweet beagle after Coach Tanner.   Rosie is the white one, Bo is the brown one in the middle, and Tanner is the littest one.

So the run was really cold!  It was a 5k  Wade ran way faster than the rest of us.  I beat my last years time by close to two minutes.  Dad came in second in his age group.  I was so proud (I won't mention that the third place runner in Dad's age group was wayyyyyyyyyyyyy behind Dad's time).  Dad said he as never won a race before, so this was a pretty cool day.  So cool or cold that we left before they announced the winners, so Dad missed out on getting his medal and getting his picture taken with Coach Tanner or "Ray-Ray" as we like to call him.  I am still proud of you though Dad!
