Father's Day 2010

Over Father’s Day this year, my Dad was singing with his church choir up at Montreat! What a treat that was! Wade and I spent the night up at Montreat with Mom & Dad on Saturday night and enjoyed listening to him sing Sunday morning. It was unreal sitting in the pew at Anderson auditorium realizing that Montreat has been such a significant part of my life for the past 15 years!! My first summer up there was in 1995. So much has changed since then, when I was just but a wee 8th grader, but I certainly am thankful for having Montreat be a part of my life for more than half my life and how wonderful it is that I now get to share the magic of Montreat with my husband!

We had a great day on Saturday with Mom & Dad exploring Montreat and the little town at the foothills, Black Mountain. We shopped, had a yummy dinner at the Black Mountain Bistro, then ice cream! We then went down to Lake Tomahawk to watch the evening primrose open which was truly amazing. The flowers only open at dusk and you can literally watch them unfold before your eyes. Dad and I helped pick the blossoms from the night before to count how many had bloomed the previous night. It was so neat to talk to the elderly man who grows the primrose and his stories about life. These were moments that I will treasure for a long time.
