Dillon and Sean with Santa
Me and my nephews. I miss them!
Mom and Dad got Wade a grill for Christmas. I got him an apron that says "Grill Master Wade"
Before Christmas we went to the cemetery at Fort Jackson for the laying of the wreaths. It was a rather moving ceremony. We watched as each branch of the service was honored and watched a wreath be placed on the grave of each fallen soldier. They played taps, had a 21 gun salute on cannons and had a fighter jet fly over. The most moving part to me was to look at the construction of the cemetery and to see these big open grassy hills that were wide open - to think those hills will one day be filled with graves is chilling.
After Christmas we spent New Years Eve at Litchfield by the Sea. It was chilly outside but we had a nice time relaxing. We spent time at night under the full moon in the hot tub. There were not many people there at all, which was a little surprising. I was very tired the whole time we were there and did quite a bit of sleeping and napping which was very unusual. It makes sense now, since at that time I was coming down with the shingles. Shingles feelings like mono, the flu and the chicken pox all in one!

Next was my 28th birthday. Wade took me to a great new restaurant called the Cotton Grill located in Downtown old Lexington. The food was sooo yummy, and the cake Wade got me was perfect. The next day we drove to Montreat to attend The Blaze conference. It was rather cold and snowed a little. Lake Susan was frozen!
Cake :)
Wade thought this was hilarious. There was this huge pile of ice in the middle of a church parking lot. For some reason, this old man I guess thought he could drive over it????? That did not work.... so instead he got stuck. Wade kept driving around the block to see the outcome. The wrecker eventually came.....
Later on in the winter, we had a great snow in Columbia. We got close to 9 inches at our house. We had fun with our pups, and enjoyed a little snow party with our friends Eric and Anne. It was beautiful.
Let it snow!
Some friends of ours from chruch got married a few weeks ago - Sarah Sheppard and Matt Ramsey. They actually got married at Shandon Pres - the same church Wade and I got married in. We had a good time with great friends!
This is our friend Josh and his daughter Hardin - she had the bride's veil and wore it and danced with it all night. It was precious.
This is Mary Harley and Luke -brother and sister - the PK's. It was cute to see them dance together.
The weekend after the wedding, we went to my mom and dad's house to celebrate their birthdays. They are 4 days apart. We had a lot of fun and hiked up Brasstown Bald - one of my favorite 'easy' hikes in Georgia. The weather and the view was spectacular!
We parked allllllllllllll the way down there!
We spent Easter weekend with Wade's family. I did not have my camera. Wade's sister took some good pictures... and I am hoping she will e-mail them soon so I can load them up.
This past weekend we had some amazing weather after a huge rain storm came in and washed all the yucky pollen away. We took advantage of not traveling and spending some good laid back time together in our own city. We went on a picnic to the horseshoe at USC. This is also where Wade proposed.... also with a picnic!!
I was wishing I could walk on the clouds...... It was so beautiful.
Wade enjoying a nice Shipyard IPA
Some USC students came out and had a little jam session. There was also a wedding going on in the chapel, and lots of other folks enjoying the day. Pretty birds were flying around too!
We even took our gloves and played a nice game of catch!
This is from the day Wade proposed - May 25, 2006! Man how time flies!!
Next weekend I will be going to Georgia for the first wedding shower for one of my friends Jessica. She is getting married June 12, so all the festivities are about to kick into high gear! Hope you enjoyed this random post! :) I promise to not be so bad in the coming months.
