Wade and I had a fantastic Thanksgiving weekend. We headed down to my Mom and Dad's Wednesday night to spend Thanksgiving with them. We had a great meal and enjoyed each others company greatly. We do not get to Mom and Dad's house too often, and we do not get to see them very much, nor as much as I would like, so I am thankful for the short times that we do get to spend together. It is easy to focus on the times that we don't get to see each other, but it is so much more positive to focus on the times that we do have and make the most of the time that we have together. Thanksgiving night we went to a hockey game to see the Gwinnett Galdiators play. Dad got us tickets on the ice. When I say on the ice, I mean on the ice!
Maximus, the mascot, came to sit on Dad's lap...
No hockey game would be complete without a fight or two...
The next day we got up early to go catch some Black Friday deals, and boy did we ever! I got a beautiful sweater at Eddie Bauer for $8.50. We SAVED more than we SPENT all day. It was great! We ran home and threw the dogs (yes all 5 of them) in the car and drove up to Columbia to watch USC beat Jacksonville State in a basketball game. We certainly all were tired after that busy day.
On Friday, Wade and my Dad went to the USC Clemson football game. They tailgated with Wade's Mom & Dad and family. Mom and I decided we would be better suited for SHOPPING! So we did! I also put of the Christmas tree to get ready for the season. Rosie sure is ready! Love my baby girl!
Wade was soooooooooooooo excited that South Carolina pulled out the W to win over Clemson, and to win the state championship.
Sunday was here before we knew it. We went to church to worship on the first Sunday of Advent. We then kicked off the Christmas holiday season with attending the Transiberian Orchestra Concert downtown. We has some pretty good seats for this too and would recommend the concert to all ages. The lights, music and special effects are awesome.
That is the violinist who came right by our section to play a little up close and personal
These two came right in front of us and got on this platform that raised up. See below
The weekend was over before we knew it and Mom and Dad had to head home to Dahlonega. I took Monday off to regroup and have some "me" time. I walked the Lexington Dam, which there could not have been better weather for. I baked a cake from scratch, caught up on some laundry, turned on the Christmas tunes, wrapped some presents, and ran some errands. HOWEVER.... the highlight of my day was going to our friend's Josh and Anna's house to meet their precious baby girl, Margaret (see previous post). I spent some time with Anna and got to hold Margaret. It was so good to see Anna and catch up, and also getting see one of God's miracles in this tiny creature I held in my arms.
MORE BABY NEWS!! (Not for us). I found out today in my cycle class at the gym that another friend of mine is pregnant. Joyce is 8 weeks now and feeling great. Looks like we have another little miracle to celebrate in about 7 months!
Looking forward to a hard week at work and having a weekend to just be with me and Wader. We may just do a whole lotta nothin'. :)
